Producer, composer, and audio engineer Tierro was a founding member and guitarist for the U.S. rock sensation Kan'Nal and produced two of their albums. He has also had the pleasure of working with world renowned audio mastering engineer Gus Skinas (Sony, Pink Floyd, Madonna) and Blues Legend Otis Taylor, with whom he has toured and recorded music for the film PUBLIC ENEMIES starring Johnny Depp.
Born to world traveler parents in Washington DC, Tierro has lived in 7 countries and has visited over 50. He has logged over 1000 professional live appearances as a musician and another 500 as audio technician. He is happily married and enjoys owning his own audio/video production studio.
After growing up in Washington D.C., Manila and Hong Kong, Tierro landed with his family in Toronto Canada at age 13. Already in love with music he discovered the guitar and was playing professionally by age 16. Recording music was an early inspiration and he graduated at the top of his class from the Recording Arts Program of Canada in 1991. From there it was life in the studio and on the road for 20 years as a musician, technician and tour manager. In 2001 he co-founded the rock group Kan’nal which was signed to a record deal in 2003. The group went on to build a international fan base and enjoyed playing for crowds into the several thousands on a regular basis. Three CD’s were released (Two produced by Tierro) and one DVD (Audio mastering by Tierro) and the band carved out a place in the art rock history of America.
While producing Kan’nal’s third album, Tierro met world renowned audio mastering engineer Gus Skinas ( Sony, Pink Floyd, Madonna). The two hit it off and Tierro was offered the opportunity to open his own studio next door to Gus’s already busy audio mastering space, and Creative Space Productions was born. Over the following years Tierro produced dozens of projects, learned the art of audio mastering, composed film scores, and became skilled in sound design and video editing.
Next door to Creative Space Productions, Blues Legend Otis Taylor was recording music for a film project. He was familiar with Tierro’s guitar playing and invited him to participate in the recordings. The meeting led to several collaborations including Tierro working on musical cues for the Hollywood hit film PUBLIC ENEMIES starring Johnny Depp. The relationship grew and today Tierro enjoys performing live with Otis Taylor in Europe, Canada and the U.S.
Today Tierro is living and working in Helsinki Finland. He continues to produce music for the United States market as well as working with Finnish artists and directors.
